Meet Our Attorneys
Timothy Jonas S.C.
Attorney at Law
Mr. Jonas is the Senior Attorney at the firm. He graduated from the University of the West Indies in 1994 with a Bachelor of Laws and completed his legal education at the Hugh Wooding Law School in 1996 where he attained the Legal Education Certificate.
On his return to Guyana in 1996 Mr. Jonas took up practice as State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Chambers, in the Ministry of Legal Affairs. From 1996 to 2002 he taught A-Level Law at the Queen’s College School, and from 1998 to 2000 was the Managing Attorney at the Bar Association’s Legal Aid Clinic. In 1998 Mr. Jonas left the Attorney General’s Chambers and joined the firm as an Associate. He eventually became Partner at the firm in 2008.
During his tenure at the firm, Mr. Jonas also served as President of the Bar Association of Guyana for two consecutive terms from 2010 to 2012. Then from 2015 to 2018 he served as Chairman of the Guyana Competition & Fair Trading Commission. In 2015 Timothy succeeded Miles Fitzpatrick S.C. as the firm’s Managing Partner and two years later, he was appointed to the rank of Senior Counsel.

Sandia Ramnarine
Attorney at Law
Ms. Ramnarine is an Associate at the firm. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Guyana in 2011 and went on to complete the Legal Education Certificate course at the Hugh Wooding Law School in 2013. Sandia joined the firm in 2014.
Ms. Ramnarine is also an ACCA certified accountant having completed her qualifying course of study in 2010. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana and has been serving the accounting needs of the firm’s clients since joining the firm in 2014.

Dennis Paul
Attorney at Law
Mr. Paul is an Associate at the firm. He graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Guyana and went on to complete his legal education at the Hugh Wooding Law School in 2008. Dennis underwent his in-service training at the firm in 2007 and subsequently took up chambers in 2008.

Kristal Abrams
Attorney at Law
Ms. Abrams is an Associate at the firm and joined the practice in 2019. She graduated from the University of Guyana in 2017 with a Bachelor of Laws (Distinction) and then from the Hugh Wooding Law School with a Legal Education Certificate in 2019. Upon her graduation, Ms. Abrams was awarded the Cameron and Shepherd prize for the best performance in Civil Procedure and Practice I and II by a Guyanese student.

Lucas Jonas
Attorney at Law
Mr. Jonas is an Associate at the firm and was admitted to practice in 2025. Mr. Jonas graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies in 2023. While at the University of the West Indies, he served as Publications Chairman on the Student Executive Body.
Mr. Jonas underwent his in-service training in Guyana at the offices of Fraser and Housty Attorneys-at-Law in 2024, and then completed his legal studies at the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago where he graduated with a Legal Education Certificate in 2025. Mr. Jonas also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the University of London.

Maritza Lawrence
Office Manager
Maritza is the firm’s Office Manager. She graduated with distinction from the University of Guyana in 2016 with a Bachelor of Laws degree and subsequently joined the firm later that year. She has extensive experience in non-contentious probate, conveyancing, family and banking matters.
Maritza also holds a Post Graduate Diploma from the Indira Gandhi National Open University in Environmental and Sustainable Development.
